Bragod perform at festival inter-faith evening

The international performance duo Bragod, specialising in Welsh bardic music and traditions, gave a performance of a new work, commissioned by the Landscapes of Faith festival, at an inter-faith evening in Llantwit Major as part of the festival in June 2021.

Bragod perform their new setting of the Eisteddfod peace prayer Gweddi’r Orsedd, a commission by the Landscapes of Faith festival, at an inter-faith evening at Llantwit Major

The festival commissioned from Bragod a new setting of Iolo Morgannwg’s peace prayer ‘Gweddi’r Orsedd” – a text still recited every year in the ceremonies of the National Eisteddfod of Wales – and Bragod have set the text to music for the old Welsh instrument, the crwth, and voice.

Bragod also performed their creation, ‘The Gate at Ystrad Fflur’ marking the fact that the 30 day touring Landscapes of Faith Festival began it’s adventure on June 1st at Strata florida Abbey / Ytrad Fflur in search of hidden Welsh treasure.

Bob Evans and Mary-Anne Roberts, as Bragod, perform ‘The Gate at Ystrad Fflur’ in the Museum of Celtic Stones, Llantwit Major.

The Landscapes of Faith Festival is delighted to have commissioned Bragod in this new musical setting of ‘Gweddi’r Orsedd’ and joyfully proclaims Bragod as Welsh treasure!
