CADW: Historic Places of Worship Forum

Beth sy’n digwydd? Mae prosiect Tirweddau Ffydd yn teithio i’r Fforwm Addoldai Hanesyddol yn Sir Ddinbych, Gogledd Cymru, i rannu newyddion am sut mae’r prosiect yn datblygu gogwydd Cymreig ar “dwristiaeth ffydd”. Mae Llywodraeth Cymru yn un o’r ychydig lywodraethau ar draws y byd i fod â Chynllun Gweithredu Twristiaeth Ffydd (2013). Ers 2016 mae’r sefydliad y tu ôl i Tirweddau Ffydd, Coleridge yng Nghymru, wedi bod yn braenaru tir newydd i hwyluso cymunedau i arwain ar weithgareddau sy’n dathlu’r dreftadaeth arbennig yng Nghymru ac sy’n cyfrannu at fwynhad y cyhoedd o’r dreftadaeth honno.

CADW sy’n cynnull y Fforwm Addoldai Hanesyddol, a Chomisiwn Brenhinol Henebion Cymru sy’n ei gadeirio. Bydd Richard o Tirweddau Ffydd yn rhoi diweddariad am y prosiect ers cychwyn cyfnod yr “helfa drysor” yn Ne Cymru. Y tro diwethaf i Richard gyflwyno o flaen y fforwm, yn cynnwys Gweinidog Diwylliant, Chwaraeon a Thwristiaeth Llywodraeth Cymru, Arglwydd Dafydd Elis-Thomas, amlinellodd weledigaeth ar gyfer cynnwys cymunedau mewn darganfod tirweddau ffydd fel ffordd o ddadlennu’r arlwy odidog a helaeth sydd i dwristiaid yng Nghymru, a dod â Chynllun Gweithredu Twristiaeth Ffydd Llywodraeth Cymru yn fyw.

What’s happening?  The Landscapes of Faith project is travelling to the Historic Places of Worship Forum in Denbigh, North Wales to share news of how the the project is developing Welsh approaches to “faith tourism”. The Welsh Government is one of the few governments in the world to have a government Faith Tourism Action Plan (2013) and since 2016 the organisation behind the Landscapes of Faith work , Coleridge in Wales Ltd, has been pioneering ways in which community led activity can celebrate and contribute to the public enjoyment of the wonderful heritage to be found in Wales.

The Historic Places of Worship Forum is convened by CADW and chaired by the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historic Monuments of Wales and Richard from Landscapes of Faith will give an update on the project now that the “treasure hunt” phase has begun in South Wales. Last time Richard presented to the forum, including the Welsh Government Minister for Culture Sport & Tourism, Lord Dafydd Elis-Thomas, he set out a vision for community involvement in discovering the landscapes of faith as a way of uncovering a rich and fabulous visitor offer in Wales, and bringing the Welsh Government’s Faith Tourism Action Plan for Wales to life.
